Asia is making remarkable progress towards low-carbon transport pathways and currently hosts 95% of the global EV fleet. By 2035, the region is projected to achieve a renewable capacity of 63%. However, Asia also accounted for 39% of global transport emissions in 2021. It is therefore imperative to focus efforts on emerging Asia-Pacific economies to ensure an equitable scale-up of sustainable, low-carbon transport and energy solutions.

Join us at the session on “Accelerating the energy transition in Asia's transport through sustainable and equitable e-mobility", which will be held alongside the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM14) and 8th Mission Innovation (MI-8) meeting. The side- event is jointly organized by NITI -Aayog, US State department, NDC Transport Initiative for Asia (NDC-TIA), and Leadership Group for Clean Transport in Asia (LG-CTA). This side event focuses on bringing together government representatives and practitioners from across the NDC-TIA and LG-CT A network to exchange their experiences and lessons learnt from the development of the transport decarbonization pathways and strategies in Asian countries.
