GIZ and ESCAP are partnering with the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, joining representatives from Cambodia and Thailand to discuss national transport decarbonization strategies.

With transport being the fastest growing emitter in Asia, policies to reduce emissions from the sector need to be implemented urgently. Future NDCs need to enhance their transport actions, particular in the harder to abate subsectors such as freight and non-urban transport.
The side event will allow countries to share their national transport decarbonization strategies and identify areas of interest for intensified regional collaboration. GIZ and ESCAP in partnership with the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, invite representatives from countries in Asia and the Pacific to join the discussion.
The side event will be conducted in a hybrid format to enable a larger number of country representatives to join and provide inputs.
