Jacaranda Hall, India Habitat Center, New Delhi

WRI India is happy to announce that its annual gender and mobility convening, Uddeshya: Towards Gender-Responsive Urban Mobility Systems, is back this year. It is a convening under the aegis of the Forum for Decarbonising Transport, a NITI Aayog-led platform that is part of the NDC Transport Initiative for Asia (NDC-TIA).

In 2024, Uddeshya aims to spotlight inclusive mobility as a powerful catalyst in decarbonising transport. Integrating gender perspectives into decarbonisation strategies will pave the way for greener transit systems and more resilient cities. In 2023, we hosted 80+ key stakeholders including the German Ambassador to India and Bhutan, Dr Philipp Ackermann, the then-G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, two Additional Secretaries of the Government of India, high-level state government representatives, and well-known experts and practitioners in the gender and mobility space.

We are delighted to partner with Safetipin, Raahgiri Foundation, The Urban Catalysts, OMI Foundation, Women Mobilize Women, Women on the Move Transforming Transport in Asia, The World Bank and Nikore Associates for Uddeshya.

Join gender experts, transport agencies, research organisations and civil society groups as they deliberate on driving sustainable changes in the transport sector.
